April 23rd, 2026, marked a significant milestone in Industeel’s journey as we inaugurated a major new industrial facility at our Le Creusot site in France: a Vertical Continuous Caster.
The inauguration took place in the presence of several political representatives and industry leaders, including Sébastien Martin, French Minister Delegate for Industry, as well the Industeel and ArcelorMittal Group’s management.
This €52 million investment was built in collaboration with the French government as part of their “France 2030” plan. The vertical caster is one of the most significant commitments made by Industeel in recent years. It marks a decisive step in the modernisation of our industrial facilities and strengthens our ambition to produce increasingly efficient and sustainable steel.
The new vertical continuous caster enhances our production capabilities by improving the quality and consistency of steel while optimising process efficiency. It also contributes to our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint, in line with ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® initiative, which focuses on lowering CO₂ emissions through innovative technologies and more sustainable production methods.
