Characteristics of our products:

  • Excellent flatness and homogeneity, oil quenched Mars® sheets are delivered with a guaranteed flatness of 3 mm/m.

  • Tight tolerances (+/-0.2 mm) achievable from very thin thickness 2.5 mm up to medium thickness.

Mars® 600

New metallurgical concept combining 600 HB hardness level with excellent ductility and toughness close to a 500 HB material. Ultra-High-Hard Armor steel with very high ballistic performances and integration possibilities

Mars® 650

Mars® 650 is a ultra-high-hard (typical 650 HBW) protection steel offering uncompromising ballistic resistance performance, for use as add-on armor when weight reduction is essential.

Easy integration in multi materials and composite solutions with its incredible flatness of 3 mm/m

Mars® Perforated

Mars® steels can be also delivered in a perforated version with, holes evenly distributed within the surface to interact with the diameter of the incoming threat. Incoming AP projectiles tends to fracture due to bending stress induced by impacts on holes edges and if they are not fractured, projectiles are at least diverted from their incident trajectory which thus drastically reduce their residual penetration capability into base armor. The holes reduce the areal density of armor plate and also limit possible cracks propagation conferring exceptional multi-hits capability.

It results to a mass efficiency close the one of ceramic/composites solutions, with a much better multi-hit capability and easier integration. The use of specific perforation process leads to very good flatness, absence of HAZ and low residual stress
