Congratulations to Franck Joubert, Electrician Technician and Fréderic Astolfi, Innovation and Progress Manager at Industeel Chateauneuf, who successfully participated in the PTL® (Petite trotte à Léon) trail around Mont Blanc. This ultra-endurance pedestrian event leads the competitors on a 300 km tour and a 26 000 meter ascent around the Mont Blanc massif. The teams, composed of 2 or 3 hikers, evolve in semi autonomy in a rough mountain environment demanding a certain technical, physical and mental level. This requires to be well prepared, to know the risks related to the weather, slippery ground, unstable and falling rocks, and to have the right equipment, “just like the PPE [Personal Protective Equipment] we have to wear every day at work”, says Frédéric. “We are reminded that it is important to take care of the others, just like the shared vigilance that we practice on our industrial plants”, he added. Fréderic ran under the colours of the Vulcain speleological club, and Franck under those of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association, which enable children suffering from heart defects and coming from developing countries to have surgery in France when it is impossible at home for technical or financial reasons.
